Traineeships and Pre-apprenticeship programmesIf you are not quite ready to start an apprenticeship right away and are qualified below Level 3 you could be eligible for a traineeship or pre-apprenticeship programme. This type of course can last from 6 weeks up to 6 months and enable you to improve your English and Maths, receive support with developing your employability skills and gain valuable work experience. Are thinking starting work with training when you leave school?
The National Careers Service have designed 3 online courses to help you learn about the skills that employers value in the workplace. You can choose to learn about the key areas that matter to you by picking relevant modules. The 3 courses include:

The National Citizen Service run programmes during school break for 15-17 year olds. Volunteering is another great way that you can develop your practical skills as well as do something you in your local community. Getting into Work
If you want to get a job when you leave sixth form to develop practical on-the-job work skills, get paid and gain employment experience then you can begin to search for vacancies in your local area on the Universal Jobmatch website.
